Join us on our mission.

Partner with us to eliminate isolation, restore hope, create belonging, and develop experiences where suffering men can find faith and joy in Jesus.

It started with an idea.

What if we got a group of dads together to recharge their batteries? And not just any dads, but dads who carry their grief alongside their daily lives. Ones who lead families with an empty seat at the table. What would it look like if we shared a memory together? How would that help?

What we found was exhilarating. Strangers became brothers within 5 minutes; the shared experience of loss was like lightspeed for honesty and deep conversations, and it created a bond like no other.

Now, we create those experiences for grieving men around the country.

For any man who’s suffering the loss of a parent, sibling, spouse, or child, we create retreats and experiences that not only mark them in the best of ways, but also show them that they’re not alone, that Jesus is near, and bring about a refreshment within their soul that they’ve not found anywhere else.

Clarity

Podcasts, writings, digital content, and more created with the desire to impact men through the teachings of Christ, the truth of Scripture, and the pursuit of clarity.

Community

We host retreats, gatherings, events, and more all with the intention of building a deep and bonded community of brotherhood.

Care

The goal is for any member of the Beacon Project to have 4-6 counseling sessions made available for a deeply discounted cost.

Rooted in truth

Built on the truth we tend to forget: God has not forgotten those who are suffering. Even in the midst of our grief, in the middle of our trials, God is the one who is with us through it all and will see it through to the end.

Meet the Founder

Founded by Brian Schindler and his family, the Beacon Project is the evolution of an idea to encourage and create memories for fathers just like him.

Brian and Hannah have 4 children, 3 of them here and 1 who waits for them in Heaven. Cyrus Stone Schindler was stillborn on December 19th, 2022. Walking the journey of grief for the family started at the anatomy scan when they received news that Cyrus wouldn’t live outside of the womb due to a rare genetic condition. Choosing life in the womb created a chance for them to embrace the life and path God had for their family, all while enduring the anticipation for the day they would have to say goodbye to their child far too early.

The Beacon Project answers the call that the Schindlers believe God has given them. A chance to help make the waiting on earth a bit easier while men endure the weight of grieving and leading at the same time.

Growing beyond partnering with fathers, the Beacon Project supports any man who has suffered the unexpected loss of a spouse, parent, child, or sibling.

About the members:

The Board of the Beacon Project is comprised of men who have each suffered premature loss and who are answering the call to eliminate the isolation found among men who are grieving.

Each member brings a unique perspective, expertise, and maturity to help guide, mentor, and push the Beacon Project in the right directions.

Who We Are

What started as a trip to support fathers who’ve lost a child has grown into a movement for any man who’s suffered a loss that’s out-of-order.

At our core, we seek to help men get the community, care, and clarity that they need as they grieve, and point them to Jesus along the way.

The Beacon Project exists to help men who are grieving find hope and joy in Jesus.
