Join us on our mission this giving tuesday.
Partner with us to eliminate isolation, restore hope, foster belonging, and create spaces where men can find faith and joy in Jesus.
OUR GIVING TUESDAY GOAL
With your help, we’re seeking to raise $10,000 on Giving Tuesday in 2025. This will fund retreats for 2026 and begin our counseling fund for men who need it and can’t afford it.
STILL STANDING WEEKENDS
Take a quick look into what these retreats look like, their impact, and what we want to do moving forward.
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN 2026
-
The goal is to host at least 4-5 retreats for men who are grieving. With our consistent interest growth, the need is showing that more retreats are necessary. We purposefully cap each trip at 10 men for maximum impact and connection.
-
We are growing in our network of counselors and offices who want to be a part of the Beacon Project. Our goal is to find counselors around the country to help partner with us as a ministry to create counseling offers for men who couldn’t afford it otherwise.
-
Creating church partnerships will help us find more men who are desperate for opportunities like ours. Alongside partnerships with local churches, we are actively writing curriculum to resource the Church with the means to meet people where they’re at, care for them at a deeper level, and engage with them when their grief hits the hardest.
-
As our impact grows, so does our need for continued partnership. Corporate sponsors, church partners, and individual donors are all vital to help us do what we need to do, and every gift is wildly valuable. Please consider partnering with us with a one-time or a monthly gift.
Who We Are
What started as a trip to support fathers who’ve lost a child has grown into a movement for any man who’s suffered a loss that’s out-of-order.
At our core, we seek to help men get the community, care, and clarity that they need as they grieve, and point them to Jesus along the way.
The Beacon Project exists to help men who are grieving find hope and joy in Jesus.
Rooted in truth
Built upon the ultimate truth we tend to forget — God has not forgotten us. Even in the midst of our grief, in the midst of our trials, God is the one who is with us through it all and will see it through to the end.
-
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
-
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
-
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
-
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
-
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Meet the Founder
Founded by Brian Schindler and his family, the Beacon Project is the evolution of an idea to encourage and create memories for fathers just like him.
Brian and Hannah have 3 boys - 2 here and 1 who waits for them in Heaven. Cyrus Stone Schindler was stillborn on December 19th, 2022. Walking the journey of grief for the family started at the anatomy scan when they received news that Cyrus wouldn’t live outside of the womb due to a rare genetic condition. Choosing life in the womb created a chance for them to embrace the life and path God had for their family, all while enduring the anticipation for the day they would have to say goodbye to their child far too early.
The Beacon Project answers the call that the Schindlers believe God has given them. A chance to help make the waiting on earth a bit easier while men endure the weight of grieving and leading at the same time.
Growing beyond partnering with fathers, the Beacon Project supports any man who has suffered the unexpected loss of a spouse, parent, child, or sibling.
